Heavy creosote buildup in wood stove flues
Why it happens here
Ngaio wood stoves run hot and slow, especially on the windy ridges near Mount Kaukau. That combination produces glazed creosote faster than an open fireplace would. Older flues with rough liners hold onto it even more.
Our approach
We camera the flue first, then treat glazed creosote with a Rutland or Meeco's Red Devil sweeping log before brushing. Severe cases get a chemical sweep and a follow-up visit to confirm the liner is clean.
