Glazed creosote from cool, slow-burning fires
Why it happens here
Aro Valley's damp air and older, less efficient fireplaces run cool. Cool smoke leaves more unburned tar on the flue walls, and that tar bakes into a hard glaze. It is the number one cause of chimney fires in this area.
Our approach
We treat glazed creosote with a creosote sweeping log first, then run a Sooteater rotary whip and a wire brush. An inspection camera confirms the liner is clean. We also give you burning tips to slow the buildup.
